| Generally, students will have a week to make
up any work. This may be extended due to serious illness, school
cancellations, etc. It is to the student's advantage to stay on top of
their work. Also, students may make up MOST quizzes to improve their
grade. I will average the old grade with the new. For example, if a
student were to get a 0 on a quiz, they could come in after school
within a week's time to take a similar quiz. If they received a 100 on
this new quiz, I would average the 100 with the 0 and put a 50 in my
grade book. Some quizzes will not be available for a make-up. Quizzes
that involve extended reading or listening passages may be too involved
to allow for the creation of a similar quiz. If students are studying
consistently every day, they shouldn't have any problems. Remember,
consistent studying is the key to success. I don't generally give a lot
of homework because I expect students to spend 10 - 15 minutes a night
studying. |
