Who is Mr. Cook? |

Mr. Cook is a 1993 graduate of Salmon River Central School. After attending the College of St. Joseph's in Rutland, Vermont to play soccer from 1993-1995, Mr. Cook returned to the area to complete his education at SUNY Plattsburgh. Graduating from SUNY in 1998 with a bachelor's degree in both history and political science, he completed his master's degree with an MST in social studies 7-12. After student teaching in the Malone Central School District in the fall of 1999 and completing long term substitutions in the district, Mr. Cook was hired to teach 7th grade social studies at Malone Middle School for the 2000-2001 school year. In 2001, Mr. Cook came to the Salmon River Central School District and became the 7th grade social studies teacher from 2001 to 2007. In 2007, Mr. Cook teamed with an ELA teacher to teach Social Studies/ELA 8. Mr. Cook currently teaches one section of 11th grade U.S. History & Government and one Global Studies 10R along with Home School Coordinator Duties. |

Since 2001, Mr. Cook has coached a number of sports for the school district. These include hockey, soccer, and volleyball. In 2002, Coach Cook was an assistant coach on the last Salmon River Boys Varsity Hockey Division II NY State Championship following a 10-0 win over Clarkstown North (Section I). Between 2002-2009, the team finished with seven Section X League Titles, six Section X Sectional Titles, three State Finals appearances, and one State Championship. Since 2004, Coach Cook has coached girls soccer on both the modified and jv levels. In 2006, Coach Cook was a part of the coaching staff that saw the Girls Varsity Soccer Team advance to the NYS Class B Quarterfinals. Presently, Coach Cook the boys varsity hockey coach. |
| Mr. Cook is an avid golfer (that does not mean he is any good). He also runs the CKON/Fort's Brickhouse Men's Summer Soccer team. He is on the North Franklin Minor Hockey Board and currently holds the role of ACE Coordinator. Mr. Cook is married and has two children. His wife Amanda teaches 4th grade at the St. Regis Mohawk School. His sons Timmy and Kade are avid hockey fans. Mr. Cook has two brothers (Ted, Tyler) and one sister (Reen). His parents still live in the area. |
