How many books does my child have to read each month?
To meet our Book Campaign Goal, your child must read 18 books each month.
Titles of books read are to be written on their book logs.

What if my child is absent from school?
Please send in a written excuse for each missed day
of school. Excuse forms can be
found in the front of the home school journal.

Will my child have homework in first grade?
Yes,
your child will have homework and will need your
help to complete it.
Reading: Your
child needs to read/be read to every night.
You and your child must complete a monthly book log.
18 books need to be read each month.
Math:
Your child
may have 2 sheets of homework: guided class
practice and fact practice. Your child would
also benefit from practicing their math facts at
home.
Spelling:
Spelling will be starting later in the year. Test
are on Fridays.

In case of a snow day, what is the next letter day?
We do not skip letter days. Our next school day will
be the letter day missed. |

In case of an Emergency Dismissal, how will I know
that school is being dismissed?
Your local radio/ TV station will have updates. I
will follow the emergency paperwork you filled out
at the start of the school year.

How can I contact you?
The
number to the school is 358-6670. The best
time to reach me is 2:30 - 3:15. You may
also email me. I do check often, but it may not
be the same day. I check the home school
journal daily and this is a great way to stay in
contact with me.
