Applesauce Cinnamon Ornaments

Recipe:

1/2 cup applesauce
1/2 cup cinnamon
1/2 TBSP school glue

Combine all ingredients together in a cup (or small bowl). Stir until mixture is a dough like consistency.  Place dough onto wax paper.  Using hands, knead the dough to form a ball.  (If dough is too sticky, add more cinnamon.  If dough is crumbly, add more applesauce.)  Flatten the ball on the wax paper using your palm or a rolling pin so the dough is about 1/2 inch thick.  (Sprinkle cinnamon on hands to prevent dough from sticking.)  Using cookie cutters, cut out shapes.  Be sure to push the cookie cutter all the way through the thickness of the dough.  Using a straw, poke a hole in the top of the dough.  Leave on wax paper to air dry.  The shapes may need to be turned over to dry properly.  After the shapes have dried completely, string a ribbon through the hole and hang on your tree or anywhere you would like to enjoy the aroma of the ornament.

*After the ornament dries, it is fragile and could break easily.
